The area known as Buckhead frequently calls to mind images people who are chic and wealthy; of homes that are large and elegant; of high rise condominiums that are contemporary and grand; of office buildings that are beautiful and accommodating; of restaurants that are famous and exquisite.
Buckhead is home to a couple of the most expensive zip codes in Atlanta. In the first part of 2011, the zip code 30305 was the most expensive one in town with an average sales price of just under $1.5 million.
Also in 30305 is the most expensive home for sale in Atlanta, located at 490 West Paces Ferry Road and listed at $19.9 million by Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
During the first part of 2011, the zip code in metro Atlanta with the second highest home sales price was in Atlanta’s Midtown area, zip code 30309, at $1.15 million.
Most of the more affluent homeowners in 30309 live in Ansley Park, which is situated near The Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Piedmont Park. Homes in Ansley Park are large, traditional, and sometimes Victorian.
Zip code 30327, found in Atlanta’s Buckhead is frequently considered the most expensive zip code in metro Atlanta. during the first part of 2011, however, it was in third place based on single family home sales, with an average sales price of just over $1 million. During the first part of 2011, the most expensive home sold to date in Atlanta was found in 30327.
The uniquely situated Buckhead mansion located at 1325 Monte Carlo Drive was sold in June 2011 with an original list price of $6,900,000, and was listed and sold by Debra Johnston of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
